Light of Home: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sB1roVCUcYQ The Mark J. Nyvlt Band includes Robert Libbey, Zeek Gross, Ken Kanwisher and Alvaro De Minaya. Fundraising event for Syrian families – Black Sheep Inn, Sunday, May 21, 2017 – 3:00-7 p.m. No one ever wants to leave one’s mother land. The Syrian crisis has taken a toll not only on Syrian families caught in the crossfire, but also on many other countries, neighbouring and afar. The crisis is, in many ways, a call to good will amongst worldwide countries. Each can play a part, no matter the size of contribution. I have organized a fundraising event for Syrian families in the Wakefield and Chelsea areas on Sunday, May 21 at the Black Sheep Inn from 3-7 p.m. Paul Symes at The Black Sheep Inn has graciously allowed us to use this wonderful stage and venue to host this event, and we are very grateful. The afternoon will consist of live music from various artists: Mark J. Nyvlt Band Chris MacLean Tariq Anwar EniiD Goodman Matthew Chaffey Housam Attar I wish also to acknowledge Tara Heft for designing the poster (soon to come), and to Michael Geisterfer for filming the YouTube video below. Everyone has been very generous with the talent and time for this cause. We encourage you to make donations on the Wakefield For Refugees and Chelsea for Refugees websites: http://www.wfr-wpr.ca/en/ or http://www.chelsea.ca/?q=content%2Fchelsea-refugees. Alternatively, you can make a donation at the event itself, and we will forward the donations to the Centre. Our immediate goal cannot be to restore Syria to its original state, but we can at least help refugee families transition well into the Canadian culture. Good will always prevails in the end. |
