Chloé Laberge & The Noisy Locomotive - Chloé Laberge & The Noisy Locomotive Canadian New
After a busy year of farming, heritage carpentry and touring the world with the circus, The Noisy Locomotive are back. This time around they are joined by Chloé Laberge, who will lend her captivating voice and accordion playing to the gang. Their new album “Chloé Laberge & The Noisy Locomotive” is a collection of Cajun and Québécois tunes that are near and dear to their hearts. The album was recorded on a chilly winter’s night in Cantley, QC, huddled around a single mic, with dinner on the stove and whiskey and wine a-flowing. This is a kitchen party, no doubt about it—and you’re invited.

Chloé Laberge, The Noisy Locomotive, and Nik Field would like to invite you to their Double Release Party!
$10 Cover or $25 Cover & Both CDs!
8 pm - Saturday, April 15th @ Happy Goat Coffee Co.

Nik Field
nikfieldmusic.ca

A dusty church room in Chinatown, cozy apartments, poutine and gear hunting through the bustling streets of Montreal. Nik Field's debut solo album Where the Watermelons Grow brings together the sights, sounds and familiar faces that have defined him as a songwriter. Influences of John Prine, Paul Simon, early Tom Waits, and traditional folk music inspire this diverse set of original songs, each with a compelling story to tell. Where the Watermelons Grow is self-produced, recorded and mixed, and is as honest as they come.

chloelabergesite.wordpress.com/about/

- Basement 819

“All the historical spirit of old-time traditional music resonates within this talented, fun band…There are lots of indirect descendants [of old-time music], and The Noisy Locomotive are terrific examples of that.” - Penguin Eggs

STARRING:
Jumpin Joel Flash & The Magic Machine
Hot off the heels of Phantom of the Opry, musical director/composer Jumpin’ Joel Flash is back and rarin’ to boogie with The Magic Machine! You’ll hear surprisingly hummable, temptingly strummable original tunes designed and performed in a manner that it is certain to make you smile. Add in beautiful backups and theatrical nonsense from an ever-increasing group of musical misfits and you’ve got a show that you won’t soon forget.

Danielle Allard’s acoustic mastery and soulful voice will stay with you. Her tunes have graced the stage at the Ottawa Jazz Festival, and can be heard regularly at venues like Live! On Elgin and Stella Luna. Playing songs from her two albums, Go Long and Chameleon, Danielle’s performance is sure to make her one of your local favourites.

The Ramblin' Valley Band is going to make you want to get up and bounce! These local favourites cook up flavourful jams mixing blues, country, bluegrass and rock and roll into one sweet spread. This versatile band can jump genres seamlessly, trade instruments with ease, and work together to highlight each member as a part in a mighty groovin' machine. You’ll be tapping your toes for days to come!

Book by Howard Ashman
Music by Alan Menken

Director: Don Fex
Music Director: Chris Lucas
Choreographer: Brenda Solman

On an ordinary day, hapless florist’s assistant Seymour finds a mysterious plant that changes everything. Suddenly, Seymour’s dreams all come true: he gets the girl, his boss adopts him as family, and he becomes a rich and famous horticulturalist. But nothing comes for free, and Seymour has no choice but to give in to his bloodthirsty plant’s escalating demands. Written by Howard Ashman and Alan Menken — the musical team behind Disney’s The Little Mermaid, Beauty and the Beast, and Aladdin — it features a slew of iconic songs including “Suddenly Seymour,” “Somewhere That’s Green,” and of course, “Little Shop of Horrors.” This Off-Broadway cult classic won the New York Drama Critics Circle Award for Best Musical, the Drama Desk Award for Outstanding Musical, and the Outer Critics Circle Award. Don’t miss this hilarious and touching send-up of science fiction, the Faust legend, and classic B-movie horror.
