Prof. Luise von Flotow, Ph.D. is Head of Graduate Studies, TRANSLATION and INTERPRETATION, Faculty of Arts, University of Ottawa. "Canadian by birth with strong German cultural influences (and passport); education interrupted and enhanced by arrival of 4 children between 1975 and 1982, and various stints at life abroad. Ensconced at the University of Ottawa in the field I like best since 1995. Research on feminism and translation, gender issues in translation, cultural diplomacy and translation, transnational feminist interests in translation and translation studies, audiovisual translation, and production of many literary translations from French and German to English."
