Night Watch
Sunday April 20th, 2014 with Dāv Fot
Grails! Perigeo!

Another stab at having a close-ish look at some of the record-show purchases, plus the usual zaniness! Lots got left unplayed - oh, well, next show!
Starting the Nightwatch in fine form with a selection from a collection of vol. 4, 5 & 6 of the Grails' 'Black tar Prophecies' EP's
Self-Hypnosis
Grails - Black Tar Prophecies vol. 4, 5 & 6
Chariots

Corridors of Power Vol III
Grails - Black Tar Prophecies vol. 4, 5 & 6
Continuing with a couple of 'various' sets of music, starting with a track from The Band Whose Name is a Symbol - remember, they're playing with former lead vocalist from legendary German rock band CAN at the House of Targ May 15th!

Patron Bentley
GUH - We Are Sunburning Canadian
Magic Train
Grobschnitt - Ballermann
My Time
Mock Duck - Test Record Canadian
The more I play it, the more I recognize Christmas' 'Heritage' LP as one of the best LPs in the hard/prog/acid rock genres Canada has ever produced...

Christmas - Heritage Canadian
Momo Tombo
Malo - Dos
Lady Xoc and Shield Jaguar
Mahogany Frog - Do5 Canadian
Now into a few tracks from 70's Quebec prog/fusion band Sloche's 2nd (and last) LP 'Stadacone' - I was lucky enough to score a copy at the record con - now to look for their 1st LP 'J'un oeil'
Stadacone
Sloche - Stadacone Canadian
Le Cosmophile
Sloche - Stadacone Canadian
Another set of Record-show finds: 2 tracks from UK band Jade Warrior and 1972's 'Last Autumn's Dream' LP, and a track from Italian band Il Baricentro, and their 1976 debut LP 'Sconcerto'.

Gong - Expresso
As we roll around in the fusion playground, we finish the set with a track from (Pierre Moerlen's) Gong, and an LP known as Expresso - the American title for the LP released as 'Gazeuse!' in Europe. Next set, 2 tracks of incendiary fusion from a never-before-released live recording from Ian Carr's Nucleus, recorded in 1970-'71!
Song For the Bearded Lady
Ian Carr's Nucleus - Live In Europe 1970-1971
Tangent
Ian Carr's Nucleus - Live In Europe 1970-1971
Now, it's time to finish the Nightwatch with a feature on an entire LP - the rare 2nd LP from Italian prog/fusionband Perigeo, 'Abbiamo tutti un blues da piangere' (1973)! It is quite an amazing LP - Mahavishnu, yes, weather Report, yes, but altogether raw-er, with a compositional flair - worth playing the entire LP.
