After a long hibernation, Ottawa's Swing Dance scene is starting to wake up. The Ottawa Swing Dance Society has returned to hosting weekly dance nights on Friday's at 174 Wilbrod, and Ottawa Vintage Swing will be hosting Vintage Vibe on March 18, which promises to be Ottawa's hottest Swing Dance event. As a part of the weekend experience OVS has invited Eyal Vilner, from New York to perform for both the OSDS Friday night dance, and a social dance evening Saturday night at Sala San Marco. Eyal Vilner has become one of the leading new voices in the New York swing and big band scene. Born in Tel Aviv, saxophonist, clarinetist, flutist, composer and bandleader Eyal Vilner moved to New York in 2007 and started his big band the following year.
