Blast! I managed to miss Fanfare Ciocărlia the other night at JazzFest. Just plain ran out steam basically. On the flip side, The Thing were AWESOME, though very exhausting. Imagine Euro-Free-Jazz meets speed metal meets Klingon love poetry or something. "Viking Jazz From Hell". My Energizer Bunny just fell over.... q;^)

I'll be contacting The Thing, and hopefully blow some listeners' minds with some of there stuff (and send others running for duck-and-cover no doubt ;^)

Sounds great! I am not at all familiar with The Thing but now I am intrigued. You shoould have had a power nap and a power bar to regain some energy and catch the late show with Fanfare - awesome show that packed a powerful punch. I know how you love tubas - imagine two of them going full throttle?

...... gee thanks for making me feel even worse ....... ;^) TUBAS RULE! Yeah, 'The Thing' was definitely the surprise of the year so far! Or, perhaps "alarming even of the year".
