6th Annual Awards Show Show

Alnoor presents three hours of world music, including nominees and winners in the world music categories of the Junos, Grammys, and Victoires de la Musique.
We start with nominees in the World Music category of the 2016 Junos. The ceremony takes place on April 3rd in Calgary. Keep in mind that we're mixing it up this year -- not all artists on today's program are nominees.

This year's Juno's feature a number of past nominees and winners: Lemon Bucket Orkestra, Souljazz Orchestra, and Alex Cuba. Boogat and Gypsy Kumbia Orchestra are first time nominees. All in all, a very energetic crop of nominations this year. I'm personally rooting for Souljazz Orchestra.

Oh man, I have to listen to more of the Meridian Brothers. I've played that track on the air before, I'm sure.

Indeed! Even better when played very loud, and dancing like nobody is watching. Sorry to our neighbours, on both counts... ;^)

My neighbours - and my cats - wouldn't like it if I played this music too loud--good as it is. Cats won't wear earplugs PeterB.

Thanks Manmohan! Thoroughly enjoying it today, which is a good sign. I just had some visitors to the station who were incredibly interested in our record players. We're a museum of sorts.
