An Indian Morning celebrates not only the Music of India but equally its various arts and artisans, poets and potters, kings and patriots. The first half of the program features classical and religious music as well as regional and popular music. The second half features community announcements, Ghazals, Themes, Popular Old & New Bollywood Films music and more. The ethos of the program is summarized by its signature closing line, "Seeking the spirit of India, Jai Hind". 01-PRABHU LE LO PHIR AVTAAR CD MISC-20181209 TRACK#01 4:33 SANSKAR-1998; SONU NIGAM; RAVI PAWAR; AJAY JHINGRAN https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6Sj82R8txKI हार्दिक अभिनंदन आप सबका, शुक्रिया, घन्यावाद और Thank You इस प्रोग्राम को सुनने के लिए। हर रविवार यानी सन्डे की सुबह जब आप आँखे खोलते है तब हमारा उभरता हुआ प्रोग्राम आप की सुबह को खुशनुमा बनाने की कोशिश करता है। उमीद है की आप हर रविवार की आलसायी चाय की चुस्कीयों के साथ हमें सुनना पसंद करेंगे। जगजीत सिंह कभी भी मुख्यधारा के संगीतकार नहीं रहे। प्रेम गीत और अर्थ के बाद अस्सी और नब्बे के दशक में जगजीत सिंह को करीब दर्जन भर फिल्मों के संगीत निर्देशन का मौका मिला। इस सिलसिले में उनकी गीतकार गुलज़ार के साथ संगीत निर्देशित फिल्म सितम का जिक्र तो मैंने इस श्रृंखला की पिछली कड़ी में किया ही था। इसके आलावा उन्होंने बिल्लू बादशाह, कानून की आवाज़, जिस्म का रिश्ता, आज, आशियाना, यादों का बाजार और खुदाई में संगीत दिया। मुझे भरोसा है कि एक दो को छोड़ शायद ही आप सबने इनमें किसी फिल्म का नाम सुना हो। अस्सी के दशक में ग़ज़ल गायिकी में उनका सितारा जिस बुलंदी पर था उसमें फिल्म संगीत पर ज्यादा ध्यान देना मुमकिन भी नहीं था। अगर इनमें महेश भट्ट द्वारा निर्देशित फिल्में आज और आशियाना को अपवाद स्वरूप छोड़ दें तो उन्होंने जिस तरह की फिल्में कीं उन्हें देख के तो यही लगता है कि ये काम तब पैसों के लिए कम बल्कि अपने मित्रों का मन रखने के लिए उन्होंने ज़्यादा किया। प्रस्तुत है फिल्म खुदाई से उस नज़्म जिसे गाया था दिलराज कौर ने। राजेश खन्ना और दीपिका पर फिल्मायी इस नज़्म की लय और दिलराज जी की सुरीली आवाज़ इसे बार बार सुनने को मजबूर करती है। सुदर्शन फाकिर के शब्द किस तरह मोहब्बत से महरूम एक लड़की का दर्द बयाँ करते हैं वो उनकी लिखी इन पंक्तियों में सुनिए… 02-KISI GAON MEIN CD MISC-20181209 TRACK#02 4:34 KHUDAAI-1994; DILRAJ KAUR; JAGJIT SINGH; SUDARSHAN FAAKIR https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SHPCtdFtJgA The red streak of vermillion in the parting of a woman’s hair is a trope (अलंकार) by itself in Hindi cinema – such is the power of sindoor. It might have become the stuff of scandal when the actress Rekha wore sindoor publicly despite being unmarried, but on screen, it has always been associated with melodrama (नाटक). Sindoor has been coupled with several random ideas and objects in Hindi films. Consider the Hindi film titles Sindoor aur Bandook, Sindoor ki Saugandh, Sindoor Bane Jwaala and Udhaar ka Sindoor. When dialogue and deed are insufficient to express the importance of sindoor, women resort to singing. Consider the song Rakh Laaj Mere Sindoor Ki and the lines “Tu hi mera sindoor hai” from Saanson Ki Mala in Koyla. In the title track of Salaam-E-Ishq, the lines “Meri maang mein tera sindoor hai” clumsily demonstrate Tehzeeb’s acceptance of her husband Ashutosh’s religion. Sindoor is often handily slipped into songs as a euphemistic proposal of marriage. A metaphorical mother-in-law in filmic narratives, it is still too traditional to be universally cool, but too relevant to be mocked. हमरी अटरिया पे-डेढ़ इश्किया २०१४ डेढ़ इश्किया से सुनते हैं एक गीत. कुछ पारंपरिक गीतों से इसके बोल हैं और धुन भी तकरीबन वैसी ही है. इसे रेखा भरद्वाज ने गाया है. अटरिया शब्द से एक पुराना गीत सहसा याद हो आता है-मोरी अटरिया पे कागा बोले कोई आ रहा है. उसके अलावा अटरिया शब्द वाले दो गीत और याद आते हैं-आया आया अटरिया पे कोई चोर-मेरा गांव मेरा देश से साथ ही मिथुन की फिल्म वाला चढ गया ऊपर रे अटरिया पे लोटन कबूतर रे. गौरतलब है ये शब्द लोक गीतों और पारंपरिक गीतों के लिए एकदम फिट है. किसी डिस्को खिसको गीत में ये अजीब लगेगा शायद. गीत गुलज़ार ने लिखा है और संगीत है विशाल भारद्वाज का. Moreover, there is certain director’s touch that is apparent in the way the tune has been composed, words have been written and especially the manner in which Arijit Singh has rendered this one. There are minimum instruments in the background as primarily it’s the voice and the core composition that takes centre stage which ensures that ‘Qaafirana’ turns out to be a soulful number that can be heard for a serene experience. In fact, it is quite credible to hear Amit Trivedi come up with 'Aaj Se Teri' which is just not the kind of melody that one usually associates with him. Nonetheless, this is a beautiful piece with some simple lyrics by Kausar Munir further accentuated by the manner in which Arijit Singh sings this one.
