Thank you for tuning into the show tonight... I am glad you opted to spend this time with me and with the CKCU/Vintage Love family on the Mighty 93.1FM. It is such an amazing thing to do radio and to do it for you... without you... this show would not exist. So thank you! :-) With that being said, tonight's show was pieced together for you with love.. Vintage Love that is!! ;-) As always, we started off the show in an instrumental stylee featuring Mr. Basil Daley and his "Hold Me Baby Pt. 2". Following this we played something positive to start the night in a vibe of positivity and love. Tonight these tracks were brought to you by the legendary Morgan Heritage and Pressure Busspipe with "Jah Way". The first set of the show featured The Heptones, Errol Dunkley, The Paragons... legendary artists and bands from yesteryear. Also Lord Creator, Pat Kelly, Jimmy London and more. Not only did we have the gentlemen on the playlist for tonight.. but we had some spectacular ladies too. The great harmonizing group The Webber Sisters, the Late Great Cynthia Schloss, June Lodge, Estelle and Canadian sensation Ammoye. During the weather detour from Reggae... as we always do.. we heard The Manhattans with "Shining Star", Don and Juan with an olllllllld classic. If you know this one.. props to you.. maybe you are 'well-seasoned'. haha A great song called "What's Your Name".. a question that has come to mind many a time.. on the bus, train, or walking around town when you see a lovely lady. Hopefully you were singing along with that classic. Following that a more recent track (still now pretty much old school) but Atlantic Starr with a great song featuring the lovely Barbara Weathers... a song called "Always". We left the weather and came to some birthday greetings. A BIG happy birthday to Michael from your Auntie and family and us here at CKCU 93.1FM. Wishing you many happy returns AND we celebrate you with some Osmond Collins and a b-day song "God Bless You" as you embark on a new year in your life. Happy Birthday!! Your Auntie wanted me to play a special song for you.. so some Terry Linen covering R. Kelly with "The Worlds Greatest" for you. (seems people think quite highly of you my birthday friend) haha :-) We ended off the show with one of my favorite songs in the world by Horace Andy and we closed out the show with a request for Jeremy and his Pops... Beres with "I Feel Good".. which I hope you do after taking in Vintage Love tonight. Always "Playing With Those Memories Again" and hopefully bringing a smile to your faces, a pep to your step and a song to your Saturday night and your week to come.
