Thank you for tuning into VL tonight. For me.. this weekend couldn't have come soon enough. On Wednesday I felt it was Friday.. on Thursday I felt if was Friday and then finally... it actually was Friday. And now Sat. night... my favorite time of the week, playing music for you on CKCU 93.1FM. So lets get started shant we? BIG birthday greetings to SS.. a song or 2 coming up for you later on in the show. Stay tuned! In the meantime, we started off tonight with Reggae legends, Sly & Robbie with their dub version of "'79 Rock". Following that was our own Garnet Challenger asking for "Peace On Earth". Double spinning a rhythm.. Ed Robinson first and Mary Ann to follow. Other artists on the show tonight... Bitty McLean by request (thank you for that request by the way), Burning Spear - a request stemming from last weeks show. The Cables had Hyacinth and myself virtually dancing the night away together. Also Beres, Busy Signal and Etana on the show tonight. For the birthday girl, we played some Tony Washington with a B-Day instrumental and then one of her favorites, UB40 with a classic, "Red Red Wine" (which if I drank, I could use some right about now - People, you can never change the way they feel, better let them do just what they will, for they will, if you let them steal your heart from you.. People)... ooops sorry.. had a George Michael moment there.. I digress. Anyway, yes.. UB40 for SS. Happy Birthday SS. Wishing you many more. :-) We ended off the show with some Marsha Morrison covering one of my favorite singers, Keyshia Cole.. mmm, she is beautiful. Anyway.. whats wrong with me.. I digress again.
