Good evening/day/night. How are you doing? I hope that all is well with you my VL Family and Friends and I hope you are enjoying this weekend so far. Listening to music this week I began going back into classics that are... not so soo long ago but long enough. Some I hadnt heard in a while. So I thought i would start off the show tonight stepping back into some 80's for you. Someone said to me early enough in the show.. this is not O'shea spinning tonight... but ohhhh it is!! Gotta switch it up sometimes to keep as many happy as possible, right?!?!? Right! So, tonight we started with.. of course after the intro, instrumental and positive track - by the way from BM&TWers! Chaka Demus & Pliers. Followed by Krystal and Shabba "SHABBA!" (my mind always goes to In Living Color) haha. Then to Richie Stephens and Tessanne, covering Beres. Gyptian covering the Cool Ruler and on we went. I hope you enjoyed that lickle rewind. For the weather break, we spun some Bobby Brown, Stacey Lattisaw and Johnny Gill and then a great song (not that the prior ones arent great but hmm... rarely played), Teddy Pendergrass with a classic... "I Want My Baby Back"... but.. unfortunately.... that ship lifted its anchors. Bon Voyage.... And with that... back to Reggae we go... The rest of the show featured Romain Virgo by request, Ghost, Benjy Myaz, Annette B. and Droop Lion. I want to thank you for tuning into Vintage Love tonight and for doing so over the past 15 years. Vintage Love turns 15 in February 2019 and as I often say... there is no chance it could have lasted so long without you.. the listeners and especially the supporters over this decade and a half. I still remember nervously coming in to the studio to do show #1... "Ground Zero".. and thinking.. wow... this is amazing. Enjoy it as you have no idea how long it will last. Who knew?!!? I am thankful to you! This show and you have seen me through many ups and downs over the years. Without it... who knows. But I am still here... Lets Talk! My love, appreciation and thanks for supporting CKCU and for spending these 15 years with me. I hope... for 15 more. I also want to say a special thank you to a bunch of ladies who from the early days of VL kept me goin', kept me striving to do better and who kept encouraging me through it all. I havent heard from them in some time so not sure if they still listen or not but either way; a BIG thank you to Monica, to Beverley, to Hyacinth, and to the Small Island Crew. I hope you are alive and well even if VL is not anymore a part of your Saturday nights. There are those whom I miss now but who were blessings to me: to the Late Rachel E., the Late Karena BS., and the Late Syvelyn G. Thank you! You brought and continue to bring me joy!
