As always... thank you for tuning into Vintage Love and for coming to check out the show here On Demand.
Tonight's show is... well not my finest hour but with some perseverance, we made it and that was my goal; draggin' myself in for the night. Man... made it all through winter, walkin' the line in -20 degree temps, no problem (well -20 poses many problems but hey..). Now, when the temps are hitting the 20's regularly during the daytime.. now I fall ill?!?!? I didn't believe it at first.. could this be allergies... ya.. must be. Even went out for a 10k ride and all... and then... da da dahhhhh..and I am out for the count. So for tonight's show, please excuse my voice and my almost gonna cough moments on air... which, trust me.. I fought off as much as possible. But also due to this, much less chat for an added bonus (not that I chat a lot but ya), much less tonight so as to avoid any yucky on air embarrasing moments. haha. Still though, I hope you enjoyed the show. I survived and went straight home to bed (well my couch first) hoping to wake up and feel better. Anyway, I digress.
The show tonight was thrown together in a semi-headache, body ache, flu-like haze. It included artists such as Sophia George with a classic, "Can't Live Without You". Also, Ken Lazarus, Janet Kay and the lovely voice of Sonya Spence. Oh.. yes, we should go back to the beginning. BIG thanks to Carib Records and Garnett Challenger for sending the new album just released in April called, "Loves' Way". A truly positive and great album which in my opinion, is a love anthem album for the world. Pick it up, check it out if you can. We played the title track of the new effort to get the show going in a positive vibe.. as always.
Requests came in for "Right Here Waiting", the Sanchez version.. which I sadly did not bring. I limited my luggage tonight due to my weakened state... I am sorry. But we did play Richard Marx singing it and the phone lines lit up... rewound once for you all who enjoyed that one enough to want to rewiiiiiiiind and come again. Also, later on in the show, we had a request for Sanchez and one of his many classics which I am sure you can all sing along with, "Missing You". Thank you for that request Sharon.
In the middle portion of the show a listener asked a question about love and relationships on the Interactive Menu (which you can check out just to your right by the way) and I let Gladys Knight and the Pips take that one with, "Love Finds It's Own Way", followed by Teddy P. with an order.. ya bettah close dat door girlfren! ;-)
Ending the show off with one of my favorite artists the great Bitty McLean, as we know how love ebbs and flows, comes and goes and we aim to make it better the next time 'round... in a classic from the album "The Taxi Sessions", released.. wow.. already 5 yrs ago in 2013.. love love love this song... "In And Out Of Love". I hope you find you are "in" it more than "out".. although out.. surely makes you appreciate and not take for granted when you are in. Yep.. songs stirring up lots of feelings tonight.. and I think the response to Richard Marx singin' "Right Here Waiting" sealed the deal on the title of tonight's show. Hopefully we stirred up great memories, feelings and maybe some dances and romances where you were... but the greatest of these is LOVE... And hopefully as Cynthia would say.. you are surrounded with such, all the day long.
It certainly is a treat to play music for you and i hope that comes across even when I should be quarantined.. at home and in bed. I hope you still enjoy(ed) the music on Vintage Love tonight.
Thank you for tuning in and for all of the home remedies suggested on the phone, IM and by email. Hopefully I will be back to normal in two 2's.. at least before next weeks show. ;-)
Until next time....
My thanks and my love to you,
:-)
