Thank you for tuning into the show tonight... I have missed being here with you but this year has been.. well... lets just say I needed a break with hopefully a few more breaks here and there to come. Anyway... Yes, regardless of all... glad to be here with you again AND I have some special news for you/us. First though... tonight's show features artists such as Rosie Delmah, the often requested Pam Hall, Bob Marley & The Wailers by request as well as some other heavy weight singers.... Dennis Brown, John Holt and Jackie Edwards. Also in tonight's playlist the up and coming Canadian star Ms. Chelsea Stewart with a great song called "Over You". I hope you enjoy these and other great songs and artists on the show tonight. The "other" news i have for you is.... we have been nominated for the Top Radio Program in the Reggae category in the land. Isn't that amazing... Yes, so VL on CKCU is up against The Morning Ride at CIUT in Toronto and the Delroy G. show on G98.7 for the best Reggae program (out of Toronto as well). Wow!! I have a longgg history with CIUT and I am a huge fan of G98.7 as well so to be included in this category with these two stations/shows... truly unbelievable. This could never be done without the support of the VL Nation over these 13yrs, who have kept the show going with your support.. spreading the word about the show as well as donating during the Annual Funding Drives to ensure that VL continues to be on the air and available for your listening pleasure. So this is really a huge, joint effort.. myself and the VL Team, CKCU as a whole and YOU!! As I often say.. CKC... is nothing without You! So there you go. Amazing isnt it?!?!? This little station and this little show vying for the top Reggae program.. just incredible. AND.. you have a say in the outcome as well. The awards will be handed out at a ceremony on Sept. 24th at the Rose Theatre in Brampton. Voting is open to the public (yes, you :-) ) until August 31st at 11:59pm.
