Happy Thanksgiving to everyone.
There is truly soooo much great music coming out now in the domain of Reggae music. The list goes long... Terry Linen, Bitty McLean, Maxi Priest, Romain Virgo, Etana's new album to come and of course Gramps Morgan who gave VL listeners a chance to get to know him a little bit more. I am hoping that Gramps, Peetah and the entire Morgan Heritage crew will be able to come to Ottawa.. and/or Montreal and/or Toronto to spread their positive vibes here. It was a pleasure to speak to Gramps tonight and I wish them all the success in their coming tour of JA. Gramps new album (if you have missed the show for the last half year or so) :-) is called "Reggae Music Lives" and is a fantastic album with my favorite song being "DREAM". Thanks to Gramps for taking some time out of what I know was a busy Saturday for him.... to call and speak with us.
Starting out in a Rock Steady style tonight after the usual instrumental to welcome you to the show and music full of thanks on this weekend to remember what we all have to be thankful for.
Birthday greetings going out to Jaiya who turns 4. Happy birthday to you cutie pie! :-) Also, birthday greetings going out to KC (who is probably partying it up as we speak) :-) Enjoy your day KC. Also to Hilda listening in from Trinidad (mmmm I could deal with some doubles right now) haha :-) From Lorna... with much love going to you Hilda and I quote, to "the greatest person on earth to me"... wow. You must have done something(s) right. Thank you for being "that" kind of person to Lorna and I am sure to many many more. Happy Birthday to you! I hope you enjoyed Junior Souls, "You're My Hero" as this I thought was appropriate for how Lorna talked about you. Thank you for tuning in from the beautiful islands of Trinidad & Tobago.
Alma is celebrating her birthday as well and Ingrid and Carolina wanted to send their greetings of love to you with a song from Romain Virgo.. any song of his so I assume you are a BIG Romain fan. "Soul Provider" for you tonight as you get ready to celebrate this week. I wish you many more with family and friends like Ingrid and Carolina.
Happy Birthday Chris from Ingrid... celebrating in Dominica! (can I come?) :-) You laugh but I'm not jokin'!! :-)
Well what a show... I cant say enough about how much doing this show makes me happy and I hope makes you happy as you listen on Saturday nights. Thank you for allowing Vintage Love into your lives, houses, cars, radios and computers where ever you may be.
Song Of The Week: Maxi Priest - "I Could Be The One" @ 102.50 of the show. Your choice for Song Of The Week ensures that you, the listeners favorite, will be in the playlist on the next show.

A very special birthday greeting going from Ottawa to Trinidad. From Lorna to a very special person to her... Hilda, who listens in from T&T every week. Happy Birthday to you.. wishing you soooo many more great days. So this song I thought was a good one (I hope you liked it) since Lorna let me know you are "the greatest person on earth" to her. So Junior Souls' "You're My Hero", I thought would be very fitting. I hope you enjoyed it and I hope you have a fantastic birthday. Sounds to me like you deserve it very much. Happy Birthday Hilda! :-) |
