To all those in the Nations Capital region who lost someone this past week, my sincere, truly heart-felt condolences. Re: Commercials. It took me a while to understand the commercial "You've been playing the same music over and over again. I think there's something wrong here". I guess this Ad is referring to the main stream radio stations that play the same songs over and over again. But CKCU has a variety of cultural music that's featured on the various shows.

Thanks.. Sir. Yes, one of the things about CKCU is that we dont take ourselves to too seriously. I mean yes, we do the best programming we can with what we have but still we make jokes at ourselves all in good fun. I hear you though and thanks for that input. At least we do have the On Demand feature now that we can make such crazy commercials advertising. On Demand is one of the best things I think we have done recently at the station. Just awesome for our listeners and fans. I am a host but I am a big fan of this station to.

I think a host fell asleep and the record kept going but no music just that static sound that comes if you let the turntable needle glide to the very very end of the record.. then it just keeps skipping there. I think that is what happened which spawned that commercial. Someone called in to report "something wrong there" I could be wrong but that is my take.

Hopefully the music helps you fellas out with your ladies (wink wink, nudge nudge). :-) True story: I met a lady fan of the show.. some time ago... she was actually mad with me because the music put her in a "mood" but there are apparently no men around in Ottawa. She said sometimes she just shuts off the radio she is so upset. I was... mouth open... shocked!!! I never could have imagined I would ever hear anything like that... but I have twice since then in separate instances. Crazy!! (I dont think she was really mad at me but.. you know what I mean)

I started listening at 11:30and VL did not disappoint..I usually check in here first or as iam listening because I get a mini preview of the show...so I listened to this new commercial and since I'm the vintage lover, its obvious she was talking about chilling with me and not oshea. we will always listen to VL while we chill. she does sound sexy...do we know her?

I think they should erect a Memorial at the intersection where those five poor souls lost their lives in an instant. Some folks think that the Bus driver might have drifted off in thought (zoned out) for awhile....and because he was lost in thought, he did not see the flashing lights or heard the bells ringing. Quite sad!!

I do agree that something should be done. To lose these lives and for all those injured, in such a tragic way...yes I agree. Maybe those you speak of know more about this situation than we do but I think that because there seem to be so many factors involved and so many things to consider, for me, I will wait to see what the investigation reveals and try not to speculate. Maybe what they think now will be found to be the reason for this accident - who knows for sure at this point. In the end though, no matter the findings of this investigation, these 6 people never returned home... and for that... what can ya say???? Only words of comfort to the families and friends who will be missing them now and forever.

I do agree that something should be done. To lose these lives and for all those injured, in such a tragic way...yes I agree. Maybe those you speak of know more about this situation than we do but I think that because there seem to be so many factors involved and so many things to consider, for me, I will wait to see what the investigation reveals and try not to speculate. Maybe what they think now will be found to be the reason for this accident - who knows for sure at this point. In the end though, no matter the findings of this investigation, these 6 people never returned home... and for that... what can ya say???? Only words of comfort to the families and friends who will be missing them now and forever.

We should not speculate until we know more from the investigation. My husband is a fellow bus driver and knew the driver very well. He was a stand up guy. As a community, I think it best if we just pray for the comfort of the families suffering. I hope that music can be one of the things that soothes them during these dark times.

It was kinda cool, Sat. Nite, to stay up and chat. It was fun, interesting and hilarious all at the same time. Certainly delayed my bedtime though. There was no one here when I got home so I think xoxoxo couldnt wait longer and headed home. haha :-) I will have to stay up after the show more often and chat with you all. Plus, before I left for the night, I had to clean up a few things on the playlist etc. for those who might listen later on in the week on demand. Glad you like the new voice too.
