I am so enjoying hearing this Canadian Spaces program dedicated to Janis Lockwood. One of her many accomplishments was as Festival Coordinator of the Ottawa Folk Festival from 2001-2006, where she was absolutely indispensable to the successful running of the event, according to Gene Swimmer who was the executive director of the Ottawa Folk Festival in those years. Characteristically, Janis was very capable and worked tirelessly behind the scenes at the festival, managing to keep her sense of humour intact. Janis was a kind and generous soul with an eclectic taste in music and will be greatly missed by many in the Ottawa music community and beyond. She was a close and long-standing friend of Chopper McKinnon so it is particularly appropriate for her to be honoured on the show he started at CKCU more than 40 years ago.

I was always envious of Janis' mellifluous and serene radio voice, sooo much better than my own!

Thank you for putting together this tribute.. As your guests have said Janis had fierce love for her family and her friends. She also had a strong love for CKCU. I am very touched by these tributes. I think she would be as well.

Chris what a beautiful and thoughtful two-hour tribute to Janis. Thanks for taking the time to create this and thanks for asking me to participate. It was an honour to be included. And thanks to everyone who shared their memories and thoughts of Janis. It really was beautiful to hear how much she touched so many people. She is missed.
