The Champion Records Story Part 2, Rockin' R&B is really the story of songwriter and producer Ted Jarrett and his lifelong relationship with owners Alan and Reynolds Bubis, owners of various labels that were short-lived and often ended in bankruptcy. However, in 1957 the Champion label was launched and Jarrett was a partner not an employee. Subsidiary and related labels were Kit, Calvert, Cherokee, Tennessee and Republic. The releases on Kit, Calvert, Cherokee and Champion were collected in 2007 on the German Blue Label.
