The third and final hour of the program begins with Rwagasabo / Baraka from the Mighty Popo. It is a new single, in the form of a remake of an older song, and it marks the return of Mighty Popo to recording and working on his own music (there is even a video).

For the past few years, Popo has been dedicated to the Rwanda School of Creative Arts and Music in the Muhanga District, just south of Kigali, where he is a founder and director helping to develop a music industry in the country. Popo has gathered up a few of the artist who are making an impact in Rwanda's music scene so hear the words and music from:

Oh Steve, everything was smelling of roses until you mentioned your favourite football team! Great show all the same, Steve. (And your team deserve the title :-) )

Hey Steve. That was a great show this morning. Got to be a captive audience driving from Wakefield to Carleton Place. Great to hear Popo's voice again. I remember well when he first came up to Wakefield, under Larry "The Bird" Mootham's wing. Great shows, great times. Got to listen to teh second hour of Canadian Spaces on my way home, heart warming to hear all the tributes to Janis. I learnt a lot from listening to these.

Ace show, Mr. Neale. Good to hear that the Mighty Popo is still a going musical concern in his home county of Rwanda. Great story about Janis Lockwood's adventure in interviewing The Clash back when, as a CKCU-Trans-FM music journalist. I suppose... if the 'station gremlins' are going to work their capricious mojo on recording equipment, it was lucky that they left the Joe Strummer portion of the interview intact. Mahalo ~ l Coyote RIP (Rest In Paradise) Janis
