Festivals and music everywhere!!

Let the music begin!! We head into another wonderful season of festivals. Dave Gunning is calling in for chat. He's the recent winner of two ECMAs, one for Songwriter of the Year and the second for Solo Recording of the Year. His song “These Hands” was announced last week as the First Place Winner in the Great American Song Contest. Also the winner of the Hockey Night in Canada Song Quest with "A Game Goin' On". He's playing Saturday at the NAC 4th Stage, 7:30, $26. Still tickets left! Lee Dunbar and Carole Anne Piccinin from Ottawa Festivals will join us in the studio. We'll talk about volunteering at festivals, their new office digs, celebration plans for Canada's 150th in 2017 and the amazing number and variety of festivals in Ottawa. Juno award winning James Keelaghan, headlining for the Ottawa Grassroots Festival this Saturday evening, will be calling in to chat with us too! His warm, melodious and detailed songs are filled stories lifted from history books and conversations with those who've lived them. He sets the bar high for Canadian singer-songwriters. New CD last fall, History, the First 25 Years.
