The Guest List
Thursday September 25th, 2025 with Joe Reilly
Interviews with Ian Lynch (Lankum) about One Leg One Eye, Victoria Cheong about her performance at Pique and Brandon Scott of Yukon Blonde about their new album
NOTE: The On Demand version of the show contains extended interview segments with each artist and the complete pieces of music. The interviews had to be edited and some musical pieces shortened to fit the 60 minute format of the FM broadcast of the show.
We open in conversation with Ian Lynch, who is a member of the contemporary (experimental) Irish traditional music group Lankum. Back in late 2022 Ian released a truly stunning album called ... And Take The Black Worm With Me under the name One Leg One Eye. We talk about how he created this dark, sensual music during the COVID lockdowns and how he will bring it to life at the Dominion Tavern on Saturday, September 27.

We also talk to Victoria Cheong who records and performs under the name New Chance. Victoria tells us about her brilliant and diverse album A Rock Unsteady and what to expect when she performs as part of Pique: The Fall Edition on Saturday night. Pique is an amazing arts event that takes place quarterly when the local music production collective Debaser takes over the Arts Court building and fills every space with all kinds of performing arts endeavours - but mostly experimental music by artists pushing the boundaries! It's an amazing event that you should consider taking in. It runs all night at Arts Court this Saturday, and it's a "pay what you can" event.

Finally we check in with Brandon Scott of the Kelowna-based Canadian rock group Yukon Blonde. Brandon tells us how the group created a pretty straight forward rock album called Friendship & Rock'n'Roll and how they will be appearing on Monday night, September 29 at the National Arts Centre on the Fourth Stage.
