She has just released her first album in nine years and the songs on it document the challenges of ending a long standing love relationship, while remaining hopeful for the future. Kate tells us how sea imagery fit these songs, how she balances being a teacher and a recording artist, and how great it was to record once again in Ottawa with Dave Draves at his Little Bullhorn Studio. Kate also tells us about her upcoming performance with a band, taking place at 3 p.m. on Saturday (May 31) at the Record Centre - 1099 Wellington Street West. We talk about Chris's decision to record She Told Me Where To Go without his signature banjo and how he has adapted the songs to work with the banjo in the live setting. He also talks about how he had stepped away from music to be a scallop fisherman during the pandemic, but found his way back to his true calling in life - being a great singer-songwriter!
