The Guest List
Thursday April 24th, 2025 with Joe Reilly
Today we talk to Lynn Miles, Rebecca Campbell and Celeigh Cardinal about their upcoming concerts in Ottawa
NOTE: The On Demand version of the Guest List features almost 20 extra minutes of conversation with these three women and more music. Even if you listened to the FM broadcast and would like to hear more from Lynn, Rebecca and Celeigh give the On Demand version of the show a listen. We had to edit the interviews and shorten some of the songs to fit the 60 minute timeframe of the Guest List on the FM airwaves.
The Guest List is sponsored by Spaceman Music, located at 388 Gladstone Avenue, just west of Bank. Visit Spaceman for all of your music making needs and don't forget they have a great repair shop and offer music lessons. Check out Spaceman online at:

We open the show in conversation with Lynn Miles. Lynn has been a foundational member of the Ottawa music scene for decades and she continues to make music that is poignant, heart-felt and thought-provoking. She is performing at the Ottawa Grassroots Festival on Friday night AND she is participating in a singer-songwriters circle and delivering a songwriting workshop on Saturday afternoon. The songwriters circle and workshop are FREE and open to anyone. Lynn tells us why she loves participating in events like the Grassroots Festival and the intimate circles and workshops offered at folk festivals. We also talk about how much she enjoyed checking out Heart in Ottawa a couple of weeks ago and what we can expect in her concert - when she'll be joined by Rebecca Campbell on stage. Lynn is also playing in Carleton Place on Thursday night (April 24th.)

Next up we connect with Rebecca Campbell. Rebecca was a major player on the Ottawa music scene for many years - and frequently shared the stage with her friend Lynn Miles. She has lived in Toronto for a couple of decades now and is a vital and engaged part of the Toronto music scene. We open our conversation talking about Rebecca's collaborative nature and her love of songs - songs she's written and songs that others have written that she loves to cover/interpret. She tells us about the groups she sings with in Toronto - the SPECIAL INTEREST group and The Human Rights. She also tells us what to expect when she headlines Gil's Hootenanny on Wednesday, April 30th at the First Unitarian Congregation. We spin two songs from the SPECIAL INTEREST group that Rebecca sings and that will part of her performance next week.

To wrap up the show we check in with Metis singer-songwriter Celeigh Cardinal. Celeigh is playing in the Azrieli Studio of the National Arts Centre on Saturday (April 26th.) We open the segment with Celeigh's song Light Of The Moon and talk about the deep meaning behind the song and what it was like performing it at the Juno Awards for the In Memoriam segment of the gala, paying tribute to members of the Canadian music community who died in 2024-2025. We talk about how her voice is front and centre on her latest recording Boundless Possibilities and how a collection of songs that chronicle working through challenges in life is ultimately very positive. She also tells us who will be in her band on Saturday night for this Ottawa appearance at the NAC.
