The Montreal-based multi-instrumentalist and producer has worked with a lot of great artists including Lhasa, Patrick Watson, Elisapie and the Barr Brothers. He has also released some exceptional music under his own name, including the 2023 gem Falcon's Heart. Joe will be playing at the National Arts Centre's Fourth Stage on Saturday, November 16th. Today he joins us to talk about the great care he took in producing Falcon's Heart, the ideas behind some of the songs, and how he will recreate this music performing as part of a trio on Saturday night. Ruby has been making a stir on the Canadian music scene for the past several years with a series of award-winning EPs, and she released her debut, full album in May of 2024. We talk to Ruby about how her songs mix ideas about toughness, resilience, connecton and vulnerability and cover a lot of musical ground. We also talk about a great live video Ruby recorded on the streets of Paris and how she honed her performance skills busking for many years.
