We open the show today in conversation with Gavin Gardiner who you may know as the lead singer of The Wooden Sky. He's talking to us today about a new group he has created called MOONRIIVR. The group includes James Robinson of Dwayne Gretzky, Ben Whiteley who plays with Basia Bulat and the Weather Station and Lyle Molzan who performs with Kathleen Edwards and Corb Lund. Gavin tells us how the group came together and fills us in on some of the interesting recording techniques they used while putting this album together in a remote farm setting. Ryan tells us how the group got its name and how they blend elements of folk with alternative rock to create a unique sound.
