What a great show today! We open in conversation with Stuart Trew who plays bass with Ottawa's great instrumental group Kosmavermo. The group is playing as part of a triple bill at Live On Elgin tonight (Thursday, October 19th) and Stuart tells us what to expect at this concert and he gives us some insight into how Kosmavermo approaches recording music in the studio and playing it live in concert. Today we feature an interview I did last week as Jenn was literally in a van heading to Ontario to perform a series of concerts including a show at the National Arts Centre's Babs Asper Theatre on Thursday, October 26th. She was driving with her partner in music and life, Dan Ledwell, fellow singer-songwriter Kim Harris and her two children sleeping in the back as they are out touring with Mom and Dad! We talk about how she manages that and about the unbelievable number of people Jenn collaborated with while creating her latest (amazing) album, Champagne Problems. We listen to a couple of funky numbers from the new album (one that has a funky Curtis Mayfield vibe) and Jenn also talks about how she will recreate these songs live in a trio format.
