Hugh Christopher Brown explains and shares music from the Pros and Cons Program which helps inmates in Canadian prisons create and record music

Hugh Christopher Brown (Chris Brown and Kate Fenner, and The Bourbon Tabernacle Choir) joins us today to talk about the incredible Pros and Cons Program he co-founded and continues to work on with people like Aimee Copping. It is an amazing program that works inside Canadian prisons and mentors inmates and helps them learn the skills to create and record their own music. Hugh Christopher tells us how the Harper government's decision to end agricultural programs for inmates prompted him to create Pros and Cons and how it has grown from its inception. He tells us how he feels he has grown immensely through working with the inmates and how the program benefits the inmates and the community. He also shares with us some of the music from various albums that have been released as a result of this program and some of the stories behind the songs. This is an amazing program and these songs really take us deep into the minds and the hearts of these people who are incarcerated in Canadian prisons. It is an extraordinary project and you can hear more music from the program or support it by exploring the links below. https://prosandconsprogram.com/mission/ https://prosandconsprogram.bandcamp.com/ You can learn more about Hugh Christopher Brown and his Wolfe Island Records projects here: https://wolfeislandrecords.com/about/ Thanks for listening and please consider supporting this amazing program in any way that you can.
