The Guest List
Thursday November 25th, 2021 with Joe Reilly
Today we talk about Debaser's multi-media event Pique running December 4th at Arts Court and the Ottawa Art Gallery and we talk to members of The Halluci Nation, performing at the Bronson Centre on Friday, November 26th.

Don't forget that we have extended our annual public funding drive as we have not achieved our goal yet. If you would like to make a donation to help keep CKCU-FM on the air, use this link and select the team, The Guest List, if you'd like to support this show. Thanks for all the donations to date! https://www.canadahelps.org/en/charities/CKCU/p2p/CKCU-2021-funding-drive/team/the-guest-list/ On the show today we check in with Rachel Weldon and Laura Dickens of Debaser, about Pique a massive multi-disciplinary arts and music production that they are bringing to the Arts Court and Ottawa Art Gallery on Saturday, December 4th. The ambitious program involves performances and installations from 24 different artists and promises to be a very special evening running from 5:00 p.m. until 1:00 a.m. Rachel and Laura discuss how they put this far-reaching event together and talk about some of the acts participating in it. Pique will include a rare Ottawa performance by Montreal's Jerusalem In My Heart - and if you'd like to know more about what to expect from Jerusalem In My Heart listen to an extensive interview with Radwan on the Guest List back in October: https://cod.ckcufm.com/programs/107/53839.html For more information about Pique and for ticket information use this link: https://www.debaser.ca/events-backend/pique-winter-edition https://www.eventbrite.ca/e/pique-winter-edition-tickets-206346045577 Check out more music from Korea Town Acid here: https://k-t-a.bandcamp.com/ The second half of the show is dedicated to The Halluci Nation - a group that has evolved out of A Tribe Called Red and will be performing at the Bronson Centre here in Ottawa on Friday (November 26th.) We talk to Tim "2oolman" Hill and Bear Witness about how they have moved to the new group name The Halluci Nation and how the name change represents new directions they are following. It's an engaging conversation with two Indigenous artists who are making a big impact on the cultural landscape with amazing new music featured on the album One More Saturday Night. You can stream and purchase the album here: https://thehallucination.bandcamp.com/album/one-more-saturday-night You can find out more about The Halluci Nation here: https://thehallucination.com/ And you can get ticket information and purchase tickets to the performance at the Bronson Centre on Friday, November 26th using this link: https://www.eventbrite.ca/e/the-halluci-nation-tickets-161788292137?aff=ebdsoporgprofile https://www.ticketweb.ca/event/the-halluci-nation-formerly-a-bronson-centre-theatre-tickets/11146425?pl=spectrasonic?refid=A7&edpPlParam=%3Fpl%3Dspectrasonic%3Frefid%3DA7 Get out and see some live music and support independent artists in any way that you can.
