Interviews with Matthew Angus of Fast Romantics & Madeline Link of Packs

Today we talk to artists who are coming to perform in Ottawa for the first time in a quite some time. First off we check in with Matthew Angus of Fast Romantics about the group's upcoming show at SAW Gallery this Saturday, October 23. We talk about the challenges of releasing an album last year and not touring to support it. We also hear about how this album came to be and some of the themes behind the songs. The group is appearing at Live on Elgin, next Thursday, October 28th and they just released their debut album Take the Cake. We talk to Madeline about touring (as she called in from Ohio and has toured in England already this year) and the sound of the group on their debut album. She explains how she likes to mix her vocals into music and she tells us about some of the inspirations for her songs - including rotting bits of old lunch remnants in a Grade 4 backpack and how butterflies populate her beautiful song U Can Wish All U Want.
