Interviews with Jeffrey Straker and Veda Hille about new music and virtual concerts coming up this week.

We open the show today in conversation with Jeffrey Straker about his new album Just Before Sunrise and his upcoming virtual concert with the National Arts Centre (next Wednesday, May 26th - see the link below.) Jeffrey shares with us some of the ideas and themes behind the songs on Just Before Sunrise and we hear about how he's still a Prairie boy at heart, although he splits his time between Toronto and Regina. We also hear about working with Royal Wood on two of the songs on the album and his upcoming virtual concert next week. Here is the link to the video for Where I Belong. Veda tells us about a new album coming out this week on which singer-songwriter Nicholas Krgovich (P!ano) creates beautiful renderings of 14 of Veda's songs. The album is titled This Spring and Veda and Nicholas will be presenting two concerts on Friday, May 21 to celebrate the release of this gorgeous album. We talk about some of the songs and how Nicholas and Veda plan to do these virtual concerts this week.
