Interviews with Jasmine Trails, Stuck On Planet Earth, Jeremie Albino and Fly Pan Am about playing live in the NAC Dance production Frontera

A busy show today... complete with some technical difficulties... haha... as usual. But still lots of good conversations about music and lots of great tunes for your late afternoon. We start off with Jasmine Trails and her brand new music which is being released on an ep this week. We talk about the dark mood of the songs on the album and how there is still light in songs like Candles and Alive and Well. We also talk about how these songs started as lyrics first and then were crafted into songs. Jasmine Trails is appearing at Club SAW on Saturday night (February 8.) Next we check in with Al Capo of Stuck on Planet Earth. The band will be playing at The 27 Club tonight (February 6.) We talk to Al Capo about how the band has been working hard for the past 13 years and recently signed with Anthem Records to release a full album this spring. We also hear about working with Steve Molella of Finger Eleven as producer of this album. Next we check in with Jeremie Albino who is playing on Friday, Feburary 7 at Club SAW. We hear how Jeremy's album is made up of songs that mix folk, blues and country elements and how his creative process has been affected by his work on farms in Prince Edward County, Ontario. Finally, we talk to Jean-Sebastien Truchy of Montreal's amazing avante-post-rock band Fly Pan Am. Special thanks for Jean-Sebastien for putting up with me calling him JF throughout the interview. Fly Pan Am will be performing live music for the dance production Frontera at the NAC on February 19 and 20. Frontera is performed by Animals of Distinction, and choreographed by Dana Gingras. Jean-Sebastien explains how Fly Pan Am was brought to work on the project and how the music and choreography eventually came together.
