We open the show today revisiting an interview with Rich Aucoin... Rich had to cancel today as he was going to be on a flight during the Guest List. We go back to an interview we did in September where Rich talks to us about the way in which he created music for his releases to synch to existing movies and how he has created engaging and thought provoking for each of the pieces on the new album Release. Kaia is bringing her amazing music back to the Blacksheep Inn in Wakefield on Saturday night, November 23. Kaia tells us how the story of her father leaving Grenada as a 16-year old refugee was the inspiration for her latest album "Grenades." She talks us about how she created these songs using a wider musical palette and how the process helped her to develop a deeper understanding of her father. The group performs a rhythmic blend of music that is part Afro-pop, part funk and part pure groove. Larry takes us through the process whereby a piece like Sunshine Interference grew out of a morning walk when Larry noticed tall buildings cutting out the sunshine. He also explains how working with his bandmates brings his ideas to life in the studio and in the live setting. You can check out Surefire Sweat two times this Saturday, November 23.
