Interviews with Jill Barber, Sarah MacDougall and Rich Aucoin

Another great show with interesting interviews and fantastic music. We open talking to Jill Barber. She will be appearing at the Black Sheep Inn and at the Neat in mid-September but those shows are sold out. We talk to Jill about how her sets have evolved over the past year and how she is integrating more interactive elements into the touring this time around - specifically seeking out input from people who will be attending the shows before they arrive. She talks about how the setlist has therefore evolved. We also talk about how the women at the core of her 2015 album Fool's Gold compare to the women at the core of her 2018 album Metaphora. She is also out touring for an album that is about one year old and we talk about how the songs have evolved over the past year. We talk again about the powerful song Empire and how her fans have experienced the song and its meaning, compared to what Sarah was initially capturing when she wrote and recorded the song. He will also be back on November 23 at House of Targ. It's always interesting to talk to Rich about his inspiring, uplifting music and the multi-media components that he creates to accompany the music... or sometimes the films he created the music to accompany. For example, his latest album Release syncs with the Disney animated classic Alice In Wonderland. Rich tells us a bit about the band he will be appearing with at CityFolk and how much he is looking forward to presenting a large scale production at the festival.
