Marvest, the free festival put on in conjunction with the CityFolk Festival, presents dozens of free shows this Friday and Saturday in stores and restaurants along Bank Street , adjacent to the CityFolk site. On Saturday, Old Man Grant gives a Marvest show at 7pm at Mad Radish. Jenson Grant joins Janis Lockwood in CKCU's studio to play live and chat about his musical endeavors.
The CityFolk Festival opened Wednesday and runs until Sunday, September 16. On today's edition of The Guest List, Whitney Rose will test the range of her cellphone, calling in from Oklahoma to chat about her CityFolk gig Saturday at 3:30pm on the Ravenlaw Stage. As well, Lindi Ortega calls in to talk about her new album, Liberty, and her performance at CityFolk Saturday at 6pm on the City Stage.
