Interviews with 54 40, and La Force

First up we check in with Brad Merritt of 54 40. The band has been making music and touring for 37 years according to Brad, and the members of 54 40 still enjoy making new music and getting out there and playing live. Brad talks about the ups and downs of the music biz and about what to expect when the band plays at City Folk next Friday, September 14th. She is not new to recording as she has recorded as part of Broken Social Scene and with her husband Andrew Whiteman under the name AroarA. She spoke to us from Europe where she is touring as the opening act for Feist and having a great time. We talked about the challenges of recording the new album with Andrew as another AroarA album but eventually she had to take it on as her own project and renamed it La Force. We also talk about the rich and diverse arrangements on this recording and how that developed through the different people she worked with while making it.
