The East Pointers have released a sophmore album that is getting lots of attention including another Juno Award nomination - the group won a Juno for its debut album! The new album juxtaposes uplifting and joyful instrumentals with poignant narrative songs telling stories about raging forest fires, shipwrecks and miners. She has just released her 7th album but has decided to simply go with her name on the album - it's called Laila Biali. We talk about the decision to make her 7th album her eponymous album and how this recording brings together all facets of her work as a jazz and pop artist. We also talk about a beautiful song about refugees and how she decides what songs to cover on the recording.
