Interviews with Jordan Officer, Elephant Stone and le Trouble

So the end of this show is kind of embarrassing and kind of hilarious but we'll get to that..... We start off with Jordan Officer. The blues and jazz guitarist extraordinaire is coming to the National Arts Centre to play with his band next Thursday, February 16th. Jordan's last album Blue Skies features some fabulous covers of Jordan's fav tracks. And he explains that he's currently working on a new album that will be a recording of all new Jordan Officer songs. We talk about the writing process and about the influence of other musicians on Jordan's approach to making music. He reveals interesting ideas about what he feels makes a great artist as part of the conversation. http://www.jordanofficer.com/ https://nac-cna.ca/en/event/14681 Next up we talk to Rishi Dhir of Elephant Stone and the band's new album Ship of Fools. We talk about Rishi's Indo-Canadian heritage and how the sitar eventually worked its way into his music. We also talk about the sound of the new album which still has some of the psychedelic and Indian influences but may owe more to the big bold pop sounds of Sloan... and well of course the Beatles factor in there as well. Check out Elephant Stone at Zaphod Beeblebrox next Friday night, February 17. https://www.elephantstone.ca/ http://www.spectrasonic.com/event/1387692-elephant-stone-walrus-ottawa/ And then things get embarrassing.
