Today we talk to Charlotte Cornfield about her new album Future Snowbird. She explains that the title does mean she wants to be Anne Murray in the future... it's more metaphorical!! We also talk about the importance of her band to her sound, working with Don Kerr, and how much she admires Neil Young. The group merges elements of ska, punk, folk and straight up rock'n'roll into a rousing sound that always gets audiences moving. We talk to Joel of the Crowns about the new album Hold On and how it's a little more introspective but still a lot of fun. We also talk about the group's confidence in the studio recording album number 2. His new focus is the incredible legacy of the amazing folk music chronicler Alan Lomax. His new album and tour for Jayme Stone's Lomax Project brings together a collection of amazing musicians dedicated to interpreting amazing traditional music the Lomax helped to bring to light though his work. The album has been nominated for a Juno Award in the category of "Traditional Album of the Year." He brings this music and his amazing group to Ottawa to play at the NAC's Fourth Stage on Wednesday, March 16th.
