Drumhand brings its jazzy world rhythms to Pressed on Saturday night (Jan. 30th.) He is performing with his group on Friday night (Jan 29th) in a SOLD OUT show at the National Arts Centre's 4th Stage. We talk about the songs on his latest album We Are The Reckoning and themes like compromise and the powerful ideas on the album's title track. http://www.peterkatz.com/ Finally we talk to Charlie Sohmer about his latest project, the Shirt Tearing Boys. The group plays a mix of country swing and bluegrass and other rootsy country music. Charlie tells about who is in the band and the musical traditions the group is drawing from. You can see the group perform at the Westboro Masonic Hall on Friday, February 5. Doors at 7:30 and the first of two sets takes off at 8:00.
