Interviews with the John Punch Band and the Stanfields

We talk to Matt MacKinnon (drums) and Cory Thibodeau (vocals, guitars) about their band's debut album, "Rocks and Minerals." The John Punch Band sounds like a group of seasoned veterans on this debut and that's because they've played together for years and took a long time to record this excellent debut that mixes folk, Americana, blues, rock and jazz influences into fabulous arrangements. And to top it off, Cory has a unique vocal approach. The band releases the album on Friday (Sept. 25th) at St. Alban's Church. It will be a special show. http://www.thejohnpunchband.com/ Emilie and Ogden plays at Pressed next Wednesday, Sept. 30th. https://emilieandogden.com/ The Stanfields bring the songs of the gritty, explosive new album "Modem Operandi" to life at Mavericks tomorrow night (Sept. 25th.) We get a quick chat in with Jon Landry towards the end of the show. http://www.thestanfields.ca/yk51fw8ov8ii6bie15mqgdqh8l03pu Get out to see some live music this week!
