Interviews with Balance and Composure and Crystalyne

On today's show, we hear from Bailey Van Ellis from the band Balance and Composure. We talk about the band's "big" sound and the dreaded "E" word (emo)and how it gets applied negatively to bands. You can see Balance and Composure when the group performs at Ritual next Thursday night, Jan. 15th. Also on the show we talk to Marissa Dattoli, lead singer of Crystalyne. We talk about whether or not punks can dance, creating infectious power pop music and trying to get a song with guitars on pop radio these days. You can see Crystalyne at Club SAW tomorrow night, Jan. 9th. FOr gig information for both concerts go to: http://www.spectrasonic.com/ We dedicate this show to the memory of Mark Valcour who was a mainstay here at CKCU for more than 30 years and sadly passed away last weekend. I know that Mark would encourage you to get out and see some live music this week.
