Interviews with F and M, Kandle and Jenn Grant

Great interviews today on the show. F and M brings its chamber folk music to Zaphod Beeblebrox on Saturday, November 22. Ryan talks to us about all the challenges the group faced before getting their new album out and how melancholy and joy can be put together! Kandle Osborne is the daughter of Canadian rocker Neil Osborne (54 40) and she fronts a group called Kandle. The group is at Zaphods next Wednesday (Nov. 26) and she talked to us about her dark, brooding album and how pain quite literally has an impact on her musical creations. Finally the wonderful Jenn Grant has released a beautiful new album called Compostela. She sounds so relaxed on this album and many of the gentle songs come from a very personal place - like the lovely song Bring Me A Rose. Jenn talks about being a muse for songs and how she recorded more than 30 songs for the new album before settling on the 13 songs that would get on the album through a very democratic process! Jenn brings her awesome new songs (and some old ones!) to the NAC next week on Friday and Saturday (November 28 and 29) Adam Cohen missed his interview but we played a couple of tracks from his new album. He plays at Algonquin Theatre on Saturday night (Nov. 22.)
