Another great lineup of interviews on today's show! Suzie Ungerleider is Oh Susanna and she has a fantastic new album out. Produced with Ottawa's own Jim Bryson, the album Namedropper features Suzie singing songs written for her by her great friends Ron Sexsmith, Joel Plaskett, Amelia Curran and on and on the list goes. She will be in town next week with some of these artists to unleash the new album in a concert as part of the Writer's Festival. Suzie talked to us about the album and the new songs, and about the challenge of going to play in Hamilton tonight, as Hamilton is the hometown of Cpl. Nathan Cirillo who was killed in Ottawa yesterday while acting as a ceremonial guard at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier. Grier Coppins hasn't played Ottawa in over a decade. Back in the day he performed with a fantastic group Rare Air - a group that created funky rockin' musicic with bagpipes at the heart of the sound. Grier explored a wide range of Americana music as part of his next project Taxi Chain and on his new release he continues that trend with a touch of bagpipes in several songs. He brings his music to Zaphod Beeblebrox on Saturday night (October 25th.) Amy Thiessen is a yoga instructor and a singer-songwriter. Amy explains to us how she combines the two in her engaging performances - and she will be in Ottawa to perform a special show at the Upward Dog Yoga Studio (251 Dalhousie) on Saturday (Oct. 25th) The evening begins with a special yoga session at 6 p.m. for which Amy creates unique music. The concert of her songs starts at 8 p.m. Finally the wonderful Jadea Kelly called in to talk about her participation in tonight's (Oct. 23) Babes for Breasts benefit concert. It's at Southminster United Church, corner of Aylmer and Bank in Old Ottawa South. Get out and see some live music this week!
