Over 1000 years of music from Constantinople-Istanbul
I am joined today by Dr. Mehmet Sanlikol, pianist and composer, president of the Dunya musicians collective in Boston, and professor of music at Emerson College and Brown University.
His vastly ambitious project A Story of the City Constantinople - Istanbul is an artistic interpretation of the musical history of Istanbul, from its earliest history as the capital of the Eastern Roman Empire through to contemporary popular music of Istanbul.
