| I did not know that Sun Ra ever recorded a solo piano album! His cosmic jazz is so closely intertwined with his large dynamic Arkestra, it is almost shocking to hear it on an intimate solo album. But there you go. The album is titled vol. 1, but there were never further volumes. |

Great shoooooow for a very dank Thursday! But, i do challenge you on the "obscure" Sun Ra front. Of the 8 bazillion or so records he put out, under many aliases, many of them one-off hand-pressings .... um .... just what would constitute obscure?! Look forward to your picks there, for sure!!!
