Planet Squeezebox II: Estonian composer Erkki-Sven Tuur's "Prophecy" for accordion and orchestra, new Nigerian afro-pop Sonia Aimy, Oumou Sangare's new album, music from Morocco and more.
Continuing a brief obsession with unusual accordion on my program, we will hear some accordion music with the Estonian composer Erkki-Sven Tuur's "Prophecy" for accordion and orchestra. We will also hear from the new album "Nigerian Spirit" from the Toronto-based singer Sonia Aimy and from the new album "Mogoya" by Oumou Sangare. To bookend the show, we will hear a couple of big Moroccan pieces.
