Hassan Hakmoun, Habib Koite, Mehmet Ali Sanlikol, Souljazz Orchestra; a great mix of Moroccan, West African, Brazilian, Turkish, and Jazz!
Today will have a great mix of Moroccan, Malian, Senegalese, Brazilian, Funk, Turkish, and Jazz music centred around 4 new releases:
Hassan Hakmoun's first new album in over a decade, "Unity", it's a terrific new album with a lot of West African and funk influences on his Gnawa base.
Turkish-jazz pianist composer Mehmet Ali Sanlikol's new album "What's Next?" featuring a great mix of Turkish and Jazz influences and instruments.
The new release from Habib Koite "Soo" where he is not accompanied by his band Bamada, but a more intimate recording made at his home studio with several guest musicians. Perhaps his best album yet.
Ottawa's Souljazz Orchestra's new album "Inner Fire"; they are playing this Saturday night at Babylon Nightclub. www.babylonclub.ca for more information.

Diggin' the vibe... Perfect for painting a home office. q;^) Look forward to the Turkish jazz. Don't know Mahmet, so that should be very cool. Souljazz's new one is indeed most excellent!
