Glebe Halloween Village - Free Accessible Daytime Trick-or-Treating Event

If you or your loved one have ever missed out on Hallowe'en because of your access needs, we want to welcome you to the second annual Glebe Halloween Village!

Please feel free to reach out to us with any specific access concerns or questions (glebehalloweenvillage@gmail.com). We want this event to be fun and comfortable for as many people as possible.

An enthusiastic group of volunteer neighbours and community members are delighted to present the Glebe Halloween Village again this year!

This event is perfect for families looking for a fun and accessible Halloween experience.

Head over to Glebe Avenue (between Lyon Street and Bank Street) on Saturday, October18th, 2025 between 11 a.m. and 2 p.m. for a memorable experience filled with treats, costumes, and community spirit. (Rain Date Sunday, October 19th, 2025)

The block will be transformed into a free, accessible daytime trick-or-treating experience with so many things to see and do (updated Oct 5th):

30 treat stations at the ends of driveways (with food and non-food treats)
a Flow Recreation Therapy regulation station
several make-and-take arts and crafts, colouring and button making stations
visitors from The League of Superheroes, Star Wars 501st Legion, Capital Ghostbusters, Dr. Who Society of Ottawa, Charm and Grace Princesses
firefighters and their truck from Station 12, from 11 a.m.-12 p.m.
St. John's Ambulance on site for the duration of the event
Purple Potties accessible restrooms
so many kind and welcoming neighbours of all ages!
We look forward to welcoming children (and those young at heart) with mobility, sensory, or intellectual disabilities who may not typically get to participate in trick or treating!

We will be collecting donations at the event for anyone who is interested. You can donate to the Glebe Halloween Village and our future events because, from the interest in this event, we know we need to do more in the future! You can also donate to the Ottawa Food Bank because people in our community are facing hunger.

Thanks to our GHOULISH GOLD sponsors, Magnolia and Nick of Time Realty

Sign up for your free tickets! Note that there are TWO types. By choosing carefully, you can help us plan and prepare better!

Trick-or-Treater - Please choose this ticket for every participant who will be interested in collecting treats at our Village. This helps us to plan for how many food and non-food treats to stock at each station!

Village Visitor - EVERYONE is welcome to join us as a Village Visitor. There will be lots to see and do even if you're not collecting treats! If you're accompanying a Trick or Treater, please make sure to sign up for a Village Visitor ticket so that we know how many overall guests to expect!

(Please come back to this page often for more exciting announcements! Last updated September 16th, 2025)

Created by Shauna Pollock and Eliot Newton, this volunteer-led event features 30 + accessible treat stations, sensory-friendly zones, crafts, and costumed characters — designed to make Halloween inclusive for children with sensory, mobility, or dietary needs.

Last year’s inaugural event drew over 700 guests, and this year’s expanded version is even bigger, supported by community partners and volunteers.
