A celebration of the 50th anniversary of the recording of the London Experimental Jazz Quartet’s “Invisible Roots”
50 years ago this week, The London Experimental Jazz Quartet recorded “Invisible Roots”, a Canadian avant garde classic. In this show, we will hear some of the album, as well as a recording the group did the following year, “Fruit From Another Garden”, under the name of the group leader, Eric Stach. The image for this playlist is by Catherine Morrisey, Eric Stach’s wife. Catherine Morrisey and the Embassy Cultural Centre were of great assistance in facilitating access to information and music for this show.
For more information on the LEJQ, Eric Stach and the recordings we will hear, see my overview on Substack: https://open.substack.com/pub/jazzontherideau/p/rabble-without-a-cause-april-24-invisible |
