Ernst-Ludwig Petrowsky with the New Old Luten Trio

Ernst-Ludwig ("Luten") Petrowsky (1933-2023) is considered to be one of the founding fathers of free jazz in East Germany. Tonight we are going to hear a recent release of one of his last performances from 2016 as a member of the New Old Luten Trio. Petrowsky once said: "In jazz, you always go an adventure, with yourself, with your fellow musicians, and with your own instrument. It's a challenge every time, where you are forced to jump over your own shadow. Otherwise it wouldn't be jazz!"
