Pianist Marilyn Crispell/drummer Gerry Hemingway duet
Marilyn Crispell had an interesting carreer. in 1978, as she was still under the influence pianist McCoy Tyner, she went to Woodstock in the Creative Music Studio led by saxophonist Anthony Braxton that was particularly hyperactive when it comes to projects and composition. He ended up hiring hear in the Creative Music Orchestra and from 1983 on she became a main component of the group.
However, that didn't stop her playing with various other musicians outside of the Creative Music Orchestra. one was drummer Gerry Hemingway, a foremost drummer to this day.
tonight we will focus of one of their duets recorded in a European tour in 2013. The music sounds fresh as in the '70s.
